As many could have guessed, the new footage is full of the trademark violence that the franchise is known for. Setting the in-game action to the song ‘Nobody Speak (feat. Run The Jewels)’ by DJ Shadow, the trailer does a rather swell job at providing fans with glimpses of the tried-and-true mechanics that they’ve come to know and love – while also showcasing some of the new aspects of the title that gamers have to look forward to. All of it blends together quite swimmingly, and it’s sure to answer a handful of the lingering questions that fans have had about the multiplayer in Gears of War 4.

Based on the trailer, it looks like fans of the franchise have a lot of familiarity to look forward to, which could be viewed as a good thing given the critical response the last iteration of the series received. Still, Xbox One owners appear to be in for a solid exclusive, and it should have its intended affect on consumers. Heck, Gears of War 4 even caused one member of the Game Rant staff to feel conflicted over his decision to get a PlayStation 4, which speaks directly to the power that the IP holds on consumers.

Fans seem to be reacting well to the approach that the game’s developer The Coalition is taking with the new title, and even we enjoyed our hands-on time with the Gears 4 beta. Of course, the trailer will likely only create more desire from PC gamers to get the game running on their hardware of choice, and even Rod Fergusson, the studio head of The Coalition, hasn’t denied the possibility of such a thing happening. Given the stance that Microsoft has taken in stating that Halo 5: Guardians won’t be getting a PC port, however, it’s possible that the company may keep its bread-and-butter franchises locked to the console.
