The 44-year-old will play host to the tournament this year as he makes only his third appearance since 2006 at the the Riviera Country Club, located just outside Los Angeles.
Woods made his PGA Tour debut on the course as an amateur in 1992 but has never won the event, finishing in the top 10 just three times and tied for 15th last year.
Thomas finished second last year at Riviera and arrives in California in excellent form, with three wins under his belt since August and a tied-third place finish at the Waste Management Open in Phoenix, Arizona, last week.
Woods, Thomas and Stricker will tee off at 2:41 p.m. on Thursday from tee No. 1, followed by Jon Rahm, J.B. Holmes and Justin Rose.
Rahm, the world No. 3, has two second-place finishes in his last four starts, with the other two also returning top-10 finishes.
New world No. 1 Rory McIlroy, meanwhile, begins his tournament at 10:16 a.m. ET from the No. 10 tee alongside Dustin Johnson and Patrick Cantlay, who sit at No. 5 and No. 6 in the world respectively.
Earlier this week, McIlroy returned to the top of the world rankings for the first time in over four years following a remarkably consistent run.
The Northern Irishman has finished in the top four in each of his last four starts and finished third in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, California, last month—his only start of 2020 so far.
Former world No. 1 Brooks Koepka will begin his tournament approximately 10 minutes after McIlroy and, like his rival, will hit his first shot from the No. 10 tee.
The Floridian will play alongside Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson. The former is still reeling from missing out on victory at Pebble Beach, California, last week. Tied with eventual winner Nick Taylor early in the final round, Mickelson’s chances unraveled as he double-bogeyed the eighth hole.
Watson could be one of the dark horses of the tournament as he arrives at Riviera on the back of consecutive top-10 finishes in his last two starts and has won the event three times.
