Ford left Kent State in 2011 to become the coach of Bradley, a move that Kent State said breached Ford’s contract with the school.
Kent State sued its former coach for $1.2 million, claiming he wasn’t granted permission to terminate his contract, according to the Associated Press.
Ford’s contract would have ended this year.
Kent State won back-to-back Mid-American Conference titles during two of Ford’s three years at the school.
