Genshin Impact has introduced two new characters during the official Version 2.3 livestream event, the long-awaited Arataki Itto and Gorou. Both of these characters will be featured on the second banner cycle which according to miHoYo’s usual schedule should arrive around December 15.

A recent credible leak on Reddit has apparently revealed the four-star characters that will join Eula and Albedo during the upcoming banner. As predicted before, the four-star characters for both banners will be identical which means that if players want a certain four-star character they can spend their Primogems on either banner. The banners will include the following four-star characters:
Bennet - a four-star Pyro sword user Rosaria - a four-star Cryo polearm user Noelle - a four-star Geo claymore user
Every new banner brings a small event with it where players have the option to try the respective banner characters and they even get rewarded for it. Recent updates on the Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit have revealed the rewards for the upcoming Test Run event.
MiHoYo’s new double banner works in a way that the 90-wish guarantee is spread between the two banners. For example, if players fail to get Eula after spending 50 wishes on her banner, spending another 40 wishes on the other banner will guarantee a five-star drop. The same applies to the four-star 10-wish guarantee.
The official Genshin Impact Twitter account has revealed the weapon banner for the upcoming update which will feature two five-star weapons. Song of Broken Pines is a DPS claymore, perfect for players who are looking to pull for Eula. Its passive buff increases both damage and attack speed which is the main thing to look for in a DPS weapon. Freedom-Sworn’s use is much more situational because its secondary stat, Elemental Mastery, can be utilized by just a couple of characters. The best character to use this weapon is probably Kazuha, who could be a part of the upcoming Genshin Impact banner re-runs in the following months.
Genshin Impact 2.3 will be the first update to introduce a double banner re-run meaning that players will have the chance to opt for two five-star banner characters at the same time. This could be miHoYo’s way of compensating for the absence of a brand new five-star character in a certain banner cycle. The double banner will arrive in the first cycle, and it will feature Albedo and Eula, which means that players can already start building the right Genshin Impact team composition for these characters.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
