Once a limited Genshin Impact banner expires, players have to wait for a couple of months in order to pull for the same five-star character again. Developer HoYoverse has introduced an interesting pattern of pairing the release of a new five-star character with a double banner re-run. Each limited banner in the game features one five-star and three four-star characters.

A popular Genshin Impact leaker named GenshinBLANK has already revealed the three four-star characters that will arrive on the first limited banner of update 2.8. Genshin Impact’s official livestream event has already confirmed that the first part of the update will bring a double banner re-run featuring two popular characters: Kazuha and Klee. The only new character that will arrive in the new update is Shikanoin Heizou, a popular detective from Inazuma with a unique way of investigating that gets him into all kinds of trouble. According to GenshinBLANK the upcoming banner will include the following characters:
Klee - five-star Pyro character Kazuha - five-star Anemo character Thoma - four-star Pyro character Ningguang - four-star Geo character Heizou - four-star Anemo character
The unique thing about this new Anemo user is that he is the first male Catalyst in the character roster. Recent beta leaks have revealed that even though the Catalyst is usually a ranged type of weapon, Heizou actually prefers close combat. According to multiple leaks, his kit will be very similar to another Anemo user that will be a part of the banner - Kaedehara Kazuha.
Kazuha is an Anemo sword user and one of the most popular characters in the community. There is a lot of hype around this five-star because he’s receiving his first banner re-run despite being released back during Genshin Impact Version 1.6. At the time of his first banner appearance, a big part of the community preferred skipping his banner in order to save up precious Primogems for the Inazuma characters.
Kazuha will be joined by another five-star character named Klee as part of the update’s first limited banner. Klee is one of the oldest characters in the game, and she’s a decent DPS choice for players who lack Pyro damage in their roster. Genshin Impact update 2.8 is scheduled to arrive on July 13.
Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
