The game’s weapon banner usually brings two limited five-star weapons and five four-star weapons. With Itto’s Royal Oni banner coming to an end, it’s time for a new set of Genshin Impact characters and weapons to arrive to the game.

The game’s official Twitter account has revealed the items that will appear on the first weapon banner for Genshin Impact update 2.8. Unlike most weapon banners, this one won’t introduce any new weapons. According to the tweet, the new banner cycle will feature the following items:
Freedom-Sworn (five-star sword) Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds (five-star catalyst) The Alley Flash (four-star sword) Favonius Lance (four-star polearm) Rainslasher (four-star claymore) The Widsith (four-star catalyst) Mitternachts Waltz (four-star bow)
The Feedom-Sworn sword is the most recommended sword for Kaedehara Kazuha who is scheduled to appear on the update’s limited character banner. The fact that it grants tons of Elemental Mastery makes it the perfect choice for most Anemo characters in Genshin Impact. Its passive allows the weapon holder to buff the entire party even when he’s not on the field and this effect can be easily triggered by Kazuha who is one of the game’s strongest supports.
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is a five-star catalyst made for DPS catalyst characters such as Klee who’s also a part of the upcoming double banner. The weapon’s passive gives a significant movement speed boost which is crucial for catalyst users since they need to reposition constantly during fights. The weapon’s secondary stat is Crit Rate which makes it the go-to choice for most catalyst characters who need high damage numbers.
Even though the banner offers two decent five-star weapons, players are most excited about the four-star bow, Mitternachts Waltz as it is the best choice for one of the most popular support characters in the game, Fischl. The weapon has one of the strongest four-star passive effects in Genshin Impact which increases the two important stats: Attack and elemental skill damage. Players expect Fischl to appear on the update’s second character banner since the live stream event already confirmed that they’ll be receiving a brand-new skin as well.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
