Are Ningguang Constellations Worth It In Genshin Impact?

It’s hard to believe that a 4-star character can be on-par with a 5-star, but Ningguang does. Her Constellations greatly increase her damage to the point where C6 Ningguang can match some C0 5-stars. With minimal field time, she can become a perfect Sub-DPS. Note that C3 and C5 effects will not be included as they only upgrade Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill talents by three levels each.

C1 - Piercing Fragments

Constellation effect: When a Normal Attack hits, it deals AoE DMG. Importance: Priority

Ningguang’s first Constellation is the most crucial part of her kit. With it, the Tianquan’s attacks will affect all enemies in a small area instead of a single-target hit. If players pair her with an Anemo unit like Venti or Sucrose, this ability becomes even better.

C2 - Shock Effect

Constellation effect: Every six seconds, Ningguang’s Elemental Skill, Jade Screen’s CD, will reset if shattered. Importance: High

Ningguang C2 allows her to cast Elemental Skill again if it’s shattered. This can happen when players use her Skill on a large enemy (or obstacle) or when casting Elemental Burst. Ningguang’s Burst destroys her Jade Screen, and players must wait a few seconds before they can get it back. C2 eliminates the CD penalty and enables players to cast their skills immediately after using Elemental Burst.

C4 - Exquisite Be The Jade, Outshining All Beneath

Constellation effect: Characters near Ningguang’s Jade Screen gain 10% more Elemental Resistance. Importance: Skippable

Since most things in Genshin Impact’s quests and domains demand speed, Elemental Resistance isn’t always useful. As a DPS, it’s not a good Constellation for Ningguang. This effect is not so bad for sub-DPS or support Ningguang, though.

C6 - Grandeur Be The Seven Stars

Constellation effect: Ningguang gains seven Star Jades every time she casts her Elemental Burst, Starshatter. Importance: Priority

C6 Ningguang is among the best sub-DPS units in Genshin Impact. Once players unleash her Elemental Burst, Ningguang will inflict great damage with her projectiles. She will then gather seven Star Jades for her next Charged attack, which will also deal massive damage. Her Elemental Burst doesn’t have a lengthy CD or energy requirement, which allows her to cast it frequently during combat.
