Luckily, this changes after players gain a few copies of Xinyan, where the enhancements can change her viability and open her up for more roles in a party. Therefore, before trying to use this rock star in their team, players should be aware of what Xinyan’s Constellation brings in Genshin Impact.

Are Xinyan’s Constellations Worth It In Genshin Impact?

Xinyan’s Constellations take her from underwhelming to viable. They allow her to be a Support and Sub-DPS in Genshin Impact. For supportive Xinyan, the core enhancement is in her C2 and C4.

Meanwhile, C1 and C6 are more offensive and suitable for the main DPS build. C6 is necessary for players who wish to use her for this role, although it’s not recommended that players use the rock star as their main DPS.

C1 - Fatal Acceleration

Effect: Upon scoring a Critical Hit, this Constellation’s effect increases Xinyan’s Normal and Charged attack speeds by 12% for 5 seconds. This can only occur once every 5 seconds. Importance: Low

C1 Xinyan only buffs her main DPS capabilities, giving her a little room to deal more damage. However, the attack speed increase can only benefit her when she reaches her C6, since players will most likely count on her Charged attacks.

C2 - Impromptu Opening

Effect: The Crit Rate of Xinyan’s Elemental Burst’s Physical Damage increases by 100%. It will also form a shield at shield level 3 when cast. Importance: Priority

C2 Xinyan unlocks her full potential to be a Sub-DPS in Genshin Impact. With this Constellation, Xinyan gains two new abilities. Her Elemental Burst will always be a Critical Hit, giving players the freedom to mindlessly throw every Critical Damage stat on her.

Additionally, her burst will activate her level three shield, which constantly applies Pyro to close-range enemies. This shield will also activate the 15% Physical damage bonus given by her fourth ascension’s passive.

C4 - Wildfire Rhythm

Effect: The swing damage of Xinyan’s Elemental Skill, Sweeping Fervor, will decrease the opponent’s Physical resistance by 15% for 12 seconds. Importance: High

C4 Xinyan makes her a viable support for Physical DPS characters like Eula in Genshin Impact. However, Physical DPS units depend on Superconduct to inflict more damage. The reaction requires Cryo and Electro to be triggered, and Xinyan’s Pyro Element could mess this synergy up.

To include Xinyan in Physical team compositions, or even build a team around her as a main Physical DPS, players have to include Electro and Cryo enablers with her.

C6 - Rockin’ in a Flaming World

Effect: Xinyan’s Charged attacks will consume 30% less stamina. Additionally, Xinyan’s Charged attacks gain an attack bonus equal to 50% of her defense. Importance: Medium

C6 Xinyan further enhances her main DPS role in Genshin Impact. Now, her Charged attacks scale with her defense.

Unfortunately for Xinyan, there are better Physical DPS options than her, even at C6. She is best played as a Sub-DPS or a Physical Support.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
