RELATED: Genshin Impact: Things You Didn’t Know About Yoimiya

Giving that importance to weapons is both a blessing and a curse. In Yoimiya’s case, it’s a curse, since a good 5-star bow is needed to unlock her full potential. Yes, she can still perfectly operate with a F2P Genshin Impact weapon or even a 3-star bow, but they’re not at all close to what she can do when wielding a good 5-star bow.

Updated November 27th, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: Thanks to its poor banner timing, Yoimiya is often skipped by Genshin Impact players. Her first banner was close to Raiden Shogun, her second comes along with Zhongli, and the third has to compete with Nahida. Nevertheless, meta isn’t the only factor that affects players’ decisions when it comes to pulling characters. People would often wish for a unit simply because they like her, and that’s the case with most Yoimiya-havers. To celebrate more people having the Firework Queen, this article has been updated to include more weapons suitable for Yoimiya in Genshin Impact.

11 Slingshot

Primary Stat: 354 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 31. 2% CRIT Rate R5 Effect: If a Normal or Charged Attack hits a target within 0. 3s of being fired, increases DMG by 60%. Otherwise, decreases DMG by 10%.

Slingshot may be a 3-star Genshin Impact weapon, but its passive offers a massive 60% damage addition for Yoimiya’s attacks. This allows the bow to shine among the 4-star options even though it has a low Base ATK. Slingshot’s CRIT Rate stat will also prove to be useful, especially when combined with Yoimiya’s own CRIT Rate stat.

10 Hamayumi

Primary Stat: 454 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 55. 1% ATK R5 Effect: Increases Normal Attack DMG by 32% and Charged Attack DMG by 24%. When the equipping character’s Energy reaches 100%, this effect is increased by 100%.

Hamayumi is a great weapon for Yoimiya in Genshin Impact if players can manage her Energy. To fully utilize Hamayumi, players can either have a Genshin Impact Battery in the team or simply refrain from using her ultimate. Just keep in mind that this weapon has a terrible synergy with Shimenawa’s Reminiscence.

9 Prototype Crescent

Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 41. 3% ATK R5 Effect: Charged Attack hits on weak points increase Movement SPD by 10% and ATK by 72% for 10s.

Prototype Crescent requires a little setting up to utilize as players must do a quick Aimed Shot before unleashing Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill. This is also the weakness of Prototype Crescent; it can’t activate its passive if the enemy has no weak points. Apart from that, though, Prototype Crescent is easily suitable for Yoimiya. This F2P Genshin Impact weapon is also great for other units, like Ganyu.

8 Blackcliff Warbow

Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 36. 8% CRIT DMG R5 Effect: After defeating an opponent, ATK is increased by 24% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.

Blackcliff Warbow is a classic DPS weapon in Genshin Impact. For Yoimiya, its high Base ATK and the extra ATK buff from its passive will prove to be priceless. At maximum refinement, players can get a whopping 72% bonus ATK from the passive as long as they can defeat enemies continuously.

7 Viridescent Hunt

Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 27. 6% CRIT Rate R5 Effect: Upon hit, Normal and Aimed Shot Attacks have a 50% chance to generate a Cyclone, which will continuously attract surrounding opponents, dealing 80% of ATK as DMG to these opponents every 0. 5s for 4s. This effect can only occur once every 10s.

Viridescent Hunt is not F2P friendly as the weapon is only obtainable via the Battle Pass. At lower refinement, this weapon easily outperforms Blackcliff Warbow, but at higher refinement, Viridescent Hunt’s passive can be quite underwhelming.

6 Rust

Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 41. 3% ATK R5 Effect: Increases Normal Attack DMG by 80% but decreases Charged Attack DMG by 10%.

Not all players are able to obtain a 5-star bow, and for that, R5 Rust is the best 4-star weapon for Yoimiya in Genshin Impact. The bow adds a whopping 80% DMG to her Normal attacks, which is basically where all her damage comes from. Since Rust has ATK% on its Secondary Stats, players have to get the lost CRIT from Yoimiya’s artifacts.

5 Amos’ Bow

Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 49. 6% ATK% Effect: Increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 12%. After a Normal or Charged Attack is fired, DMG dealt increases by a further 8% every 0. 1 seconds the arrow is in the air for up to 5 times.

Amos’ Bow is a classic straight-to-DMG bow that does a great job maximizing the wielding Genshin Impact character’s ATK. On paper, Amos’ Bow can be Yoimiya’s best bow. But with her, there are two key problems Amos’ Bow suffers from. One, Amos grants a lot of Base ATK and ATK% to Yoimiya’s kit, which would diminish any extra ATK she gets by third-party buffers (like Bennett’s Burst, for example).

Lastly, Yoimiya’s arrows are fast, and she depends on her Normal attacks that require her to be ‌close to the target. So in most cases, Yoimiya will have a rough time fully benefiting from Amos’ Bow’s DMG buff.

4 Polar Star

Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 33. 1% CRIT Rate Effect: Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG increased by 12%. After a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits an opponent, 1 stack of Ashen Nightstar will be gained for 12s. When 1/2/3/4 stacks of Ashen Nightstar are present, ATK is increased by 10/20/30/48%. The stack of Ashen Nightstar created by the Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst will be counted independently of the others.

Many Genshin Impact travelers would turn a blind eye to Polar Star because of Yoimiya’s inability to activate its passive. While that’s true in some way, still, Polar Star yields a crazy amount of CRIT Rate combined with a high enough Base ATK. Those two stats on that bow are enough to put it ahead of most 5-star and all 4-star bows.

3 Skyward Harp

Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 22. 1% CRIT Rate Effect: Increases CRIT DMG by 20%. Hits have a 60% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 4s.

Skyward Harp will always rank high in bow weapon tier lists in Genshin Impact. Just like its other Skyward family weapons, Harp has a general passive effect that can work on any unit that wields the bow. In addition to its passive, Yoimiya will also enjoy the bow’s Primary and Secondary stats, adding a lot of Base ATK and CRIT Rate to her stat.

2 Aqua Simulacra

Primary Stat: 542 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 88. 2% CRIT DMG Effect: HP is increased by 16%. When there are opponents nearby, the DMG dealt by the wielder of this weapon is increased by 20%. This will take effect whether or not the character is on-field.

Many would ask if Aqua Simulacra is a good bow for Yoimiya. In fact, Aqua Simulacra is the Staff of Homa for bow users in Genshin Impact. There’s a difference between Homa and Aqua though. Homa grants its wielder a DMG bonus based on the unit’s current HP, while Aqua gives a flat buff that isn’t affected by anything. The only condition to acquire Aqua Simulacra’s buff is to have enemies close to Yoimiya, which is a little complicated, considering she has to keep her distance while shooting her arrows. So it’s recommended to have a shielder to protect Yoimiya while using Aqua Simulacra.

1 Thundering Pulse

Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 66. 2% CRIT DMG Effect: Increases ATK by 20% and grants the might of the Thunder Emblem. At stack levels 1/2/3, the Thunder Emblem increases Normal Attack DMG by 12/24/40%. The character will obtain 1 stack of Thunder Emblem in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals DMG (stack lasts 5s), casting Elemental Skill (stack lasts 10s); Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full). Each stack’s duration is calculated independently.

Thundering Pulse is Yoimiya’s best bow in Genshin Impact. The weapon has everything Yoimiya needs from high Base ATK to CRIT DMG Secondary Stats and a great passive effect that boosts Yoimiya’s Normal ATK DMG by up to 40% on its first refinement.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
