Long-time fans of Genshin Impact may remember a regular publication from MiHoYo called the “Teyvat Times,” of which the company produced several newsletters during the early stages of the game’s life. The posts were fun updates about the Genshin player base and their activities within the game, recording statistics like how many players had been struck by lightning bolts and various trivial accomplishments within the community, like walking the full distance from Mondstadt to Liyue. Now, Genshin recently revealed that the popular publication would be returning with the first volume of the 2022 “Teyvat Times” releasing Tuesday.

With just over a year passing since the last publishing of the “Teyvat Times,” the newest update focuses heavily on the newer content added to Genshin Impact, with Inazuma and the Serenitea Pot housing system sharing the spotlight. The lighthearted newsletter details similarly outlandish accomplishments achieved by particularly dedicated members of the game’s community, with one player collecting 22,732 pieces of wood in a single day, and another having 275 dogs in their teapot homestead.
Alongside the achievements specific to singular players, the newest issue of the “Teyvat Times” also features several statistics about Genshin’s player base as a whole, with pages focused on several aspects of Inazuma. The Grand Narukami Shrine’s fortune box reportedly saw over 160,000 players on average seeking a daily fortune, with almost a quarter of those players drawing the “Great Fortune” slip. Inazuma’s newest region of Enkanomiya also sees a spotlight, with the issue highlighting a total of over 136,000 players lighting up all of the region’s waypoints within a day following the Version 2.4 update.
The return of the “Teyvat Times” has been a long-awaited request of the fanbase as the publication looks to highlight the community that helped the game to its massive popularity. Genshin Impact has been one of the biggest success stories of the last year in gaming as the game exploded in popularity following its September 2020 launch and was a finalist for ‘Best Ongoing Game’ at the 2021 Game Awards. The “Teyvat Times’” return will look to be a place for MiHoYo to honor the unbelievable achievements of Genshin Impact’s passionate player base.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
