Wanderer, previously known as the Balladeer or Scaramouche, has been part of the game since Genshin Impact update 1.1, where he was revealed as one of the Fatui Harbingers. He played a significant part in the whole Sumeru storyline where he also received his own weekly boss domain.

An interesting post featuring Wanderer on the official Genshin Impact subreddit has gathered a lot of attention in the community. Reddit user AHSCH has shared their fan-made concept in which they tried to give Wanderer an adult body type. Even though he is one of the oldest characters in Genshin Impact, HoYoverse decided to give Wanderer a teen model. He was initially created to be the Electro Archon but Ei decided to seal his powers and sent him free. Even though the story does not specify his exact age, he is confirmed to be immortal and there are some fans in the comment section that prefer this tall version of Wanderer.
Even though he was the main antagonist in 3.2, Wanderer has gone through a change of heart in the ongoing Genshin Impact version 3.3. He received an Anemo Vision which allowed him to save the Traveler and Paimon from a devastating attack launched by the artificial god, Shouki no Kami. His story quest quickly became one of the fan-favorite as it goes deeper into the story of this unique character who used to be one of the main villains.
As the 6th Harbinger, Scaramouche played an important role in the Fatui Organization which is one of the main antagonist factions in the game. When it comes to his strength on the battlefield, Wanderer is considered one of the best DPS characters in Genshin Impact with a very specific play style.
His kit allows him to deploy razor-sharp wind blades while floating above his enemies, allowing him to reposition when needed. The fact that he is an Anemo character allows Wanderer to fit multiple team compositions since he does not rely on triggering specific elemental reactions.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
