Raiden Shogun has seen immense popularity among Genshin Impact fans since the character’s original debut in Version 2.1 last year. Both Raiden Shogun’s original release and her first rerun alongside Kokomi have been among Genshin’s highest-earning gacha banners. The combined Raiden and Kokomi banner sat as Genshin’s top banner in terms of revenue for months, only being topped by Ayaka’s extended banner and, recently, the Nahida release banner. Now, Raiden Shogun is set to once again return to Genshin Impact’s gacha in Version 3.3.

Alongside the plethora of new content coming with Version 3.3, Genshin Impact officially unveiled which characters would be making a return during the coming update, with Raiden Shogun as a highlight. Raiden Shogun will feature during the second half of Version 3.3 alongside the first rerun for Kamisato Ayato after his release in 2.6. The two Inazuma reruns will be joined by Genshin’s newest four-star character, Faruzan, already confirmed for the second half. The banner is scheduled to begin in late December at the halfway point of Version 3.3’s duration.

The first half of Genshin Impact’s Version 3.3 is also set to feature the return of a popular character alongside Wanderer. Version 3.3’s Special Program revealed Wanderer will be joined by Arataki Itto, featuring in his second rerun and making his first appearance since Version 2.7. Itto will likely feature during the new version’s “Akitsu Kimodameshi” event and potentially during the introduction of Genshin’s new TCG mode, with the character being a fan of the in-game TCG.

Raiden Shogun’s return to Genshin Impact comes as her first return to the game since the debut of Sumeru and Genshin’s newest element, Dendro. Raiden is believed to be a powerful addition to teams focused around the game’s new element, being a staple DPS character for Hyperbloom team builds. She also joins the limited banner not long after Genshin introduced the game’s newest Archon, Nahida, as a powerful character for Dendro teams. Raiden Shogun’s newest rerun during Version 3.3 will look to see similar success to the character’s previous features.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
