Developer HoYoverse has already confirmed that Heizou is a popular Tenryou Commissions detective and should arrive alongside the upcoming new update. While players patiently await for a new announcement to reveal more details about the new content, it seems as though Genshin Impact has prematurely shared the complete summary of the upcoming update.

Reddit user RiversCroft has shared an interesting picture showing the summary for Genshin Impact Version 2.8 posted by developer HoYoverse on their official page on Epic Games. According to the description, the new update will introduce the following pieces of content:
New character named Shikanoin Heizou New Event called Summertime Odyssey Limited-time region for the Golden Apple Archipelago Event Loads of new Story Quests and Hangout Events New outfits for a couple of characters
According to multiple leaks, Heizou will apparently be an Anemo DPS character and the game’s first male catalyst. However, even though the Catalyst is usually used for ranged characters, recent beta leaks have confirmed that Heizou prefers close combat. His elemental skill, Heartstopper Strike, allows him to punch a group of opponents in front of him dealing Anemo damage in the process. His elemental burst is similar to Kazuha’s burst as it makes him leap into the air and launch a powerful Anemo attack that can hit up to four different opponents.
While the playable roster remains the main focus of every Genshin Impact update, the majority of the community seems more excited about the upcoming Golden Apple Archipelago event. This limited event was also featured in last year’s Genshin Impact update 2.6 as part of the Midsummer Island Adventure, and it quickly became a fan-favorite. The upcoming Golden Apple Archipelago event will apparently introduce a new limited region named Twinning Isles which is composed of numerous small islands.
Even though the update description does not specifically state which characters will receive new cosmetics, recent Genshin Impact leaks seemingly confirmed that the new outfits belong to Diluc and Fishcl. Diluc will apparently receive the first five-star skin in Genshin Impact which will include new effects to his combat mechanics. While fans seem a bit disappointed by the price of Diluc’s skin, it seems as though Fiscals’ new costume will be obtainable for free during Genshin Impact 2.8.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
