Reddit user Netherdan shared some Genshin Impact dialogue between Vahid, the Syavushi Bakshesh Shoppe owner in Inazuma, and the Traveler that focuses on a blessing from Lesser Lord Kusanali. Vahid sells Anahitian Blessings at his shop and invites Inazuman customers to take advantage of a sale. When the Traveler speaks to Vahid and asks about Anahitian Blessings, Vahid is slightly embarrassed about specifics surrounding the subject. Vahid explains that Kusanali’s blessing grants the land with more vitality due to elemental power, revealing that the blessing is actually fertilizer.

The Reddit user explains that Anahitian Blessings are a reference to Anahita, the Persian god of fertility, healing, and wisdom. In modern Persian, Anahita is commonly referred to as “Ardwisur Anahid” or “Nahid.” HoYoverse likely took inspiration from the Persian god when creating Lesser Lord Kusanali in Genshin Impact, and Nahida’s name is derived from the modern name for Anahita. Since Nahida is the current vessel of Lesser Lord Kusanali, she will likely share some of the Archon’s values. One of those values is protecting Sumeru’s lush and fertile land, which is home to many types of flora and fauna bestowed by the Archon.

Genshin Impact’s Sumeru region was inspired by ancient Persian, South Asian, and Egyptian cultures. Mainland Sumeru features dense forests, tall mountains, and giant mushrooms whereas Sumeru’s desert is arid and nearly lifeless because of an old curse. The contrasting regions were affected by humanity’s decisions in ancient times, but Greater Lord Rukkhadevata and Lesser Lord Kusanali played important roles in shaping Sumeru as players see it today. Anahitian Blessings are another product of Lesser Lord Kusanali’s wisdom.

HoYoverse continues to reference real world cultures in fascinating ways by incorporating unique fantasy concepts established in Genshin Impact. As a result, Genshin Impact’s world-building is among one of the best in the free-to-play space. Players can also expect a host of new Genshin Impact characters with heavy lore implications just like Nahida.

Nahida is expected to arrive when Genshin Impact version 3.2 launches in early November. She will be a Dendro Vision Bearer, and players can meet her as an NPC in the main story chapters introduced in Genshin Impact version 3.0.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
