Genshin Impact’s next update has been one of the game’s most anticipated in recent editions for multiple reasons. Alongside the new permanent TCG mode, Version 3.3 will also finally welcome the long-awaited Wanderer to the game with the Fatui Harbinger as one of the most highly-requested characters from fans. HoYoVerse has also confirmed multiple re-runs of popular characters running during Version 3.3, including the return of the massively popular Raiden Shogun during the second half. Now, Genshin is gearing up for its newest permanent game mode.

The official gameplay trailer, titled “Let’s Play Genius Invokation TCG,” gives players an idea of what to expect from the TCG mode’s addition during the upcoming patch. While the trailer does not give a clear picture of how the game plays, the showcase features each player having a party of three characters alongside summons based on characters like Guoba, Oz, and the Anemo Hypostasis. The trailer also teases several other Genshin Impact characters players will be able to face like Ganyu, Cyno, and Sucrose among others.
The addition of Genius Invokation TCG to Genshin Impact comes as HoYoVerse has been criticized for the lack of endgame content in the RPG. While the TCG mode offers a new permanent game feature, many fans have called for HoYoVerse to provide more combat-focused permanent additions to the game. HoYoVerse has previously stated it has no plans to add more endgame content like Spiral Abyss to Genshin Impact, a decision that received significant backlash from fans.
Genshin Impact’s upcoming Version 3.3 is set to feature a wide variety of content for players to take in during the new update. The update’s main event is set to be the “Akitsu Kimodameshi,” featuring a variety of mini-games, with others including the new “Across the Wilderness” event and the return of the popular Windtrace mini-game. Genshin Impact is also set to add two new artifact sets to the game with Version 3.3, geared towards buffing some of the game’s newest characters. Between the TCG, Wanderer’s release, and a plethora of events, Genshin Impact looks to have plenty in store for Version 3.3.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
