A couple of days ago, the official Genshin Impact social media accounts have revealed that the upcoming Version 2.7 will get delayed. However, players won’t be left stranded as HoYoverse prepared different compensation rewards which include tons of precious Primogems.

Even though there is still no official reason behind the delay, fans speculate that it’s possibly the result of the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai. HoYoverse has decided to prolong the duration for the current limited banner that features the five-star Ayaka, and give out very generous compensation rewards. For each week of the delay, Genshin Impact players will have the option to collect the following items:

Primogems x400 Fragile Resin x1 Mystir Enhancement Ore x16 Mora x120k

Genshin Impact will start giving out these rewards right after the initial end date for “The Heron’s Court” limited banner which is May 11. A couple of hours prior to the game’s official announcement, many players got terrified as a countdown glitch for Ayaka’s limited banner showed that the banner had 240 days left. Luckily, the text was later changed to “Before Version 2.6 ends.”

There is still no information about the duration of the delay, but many Genshin Impact leakers including Lumie, who has proven to be credible on numerous occasions, claim that it should last for around three weeks. This should still be taken with a grain of salt since considering that HoYoverse didn’t reveal any specific dates, there is a chance that even it doesn’t for how long Genshin Impact Version 2.6 will stay around and it probably depends on how the lockdown situation develops.

Multiple leaks also claim that the majority of content for Genshin Impact update 2.7 is already finished but HoYoverse struggles to develop the following update 2.8, which is rumored to be the one that brings the whole Inazuma arc to an end. The beta version for Genshin Impact update 2.7 has revealed almost all of the content that should arrive with the new update. The game has officially confirmed the two characters that will arrive, Kuki Shinobu and Yelan.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
