Whoops, spoiler alert. But if one’s here perusing this page, chances are, they’ve already met her and are having a hard time with her. After all, the fight with Signora is a wild maelstrom of fire and ice. The same goes for her Weekly replayable boss version. Hence, some tips are in order to help nudge Signora out of the way in Genshin Impact. Maybe then, the Traveler will have time to find their missing sibling.

Updated November 2, 2021, by Sid Natividad:Signora’s death in Genshin Impact didn’t affect her popularity too negatively as her symphony of ice and fire lives on in the confines of Inazuma’s capital. There, players can duke it out once more against her as a weekly boss. That’s easier said than done since “how to defeat Signora” is quite the question. She’s only one of the most difficult bosses in the game. At high enough World Levels, she’ll easily melt away even the highest HP pools. Thus, a lot of players will surely appreciate some in-depth tips on how to beat Signora. Because Signora is powerful enough to defeat even old gods, players will need all the help they can get.

13 Unlocking Signora

First up, players will have to get to Signora in order to fight her. It’s a lengthy process that requires several hours of effort in case players haven’t done the whole Inazuma main questline. She’s one of the bosses near the end of the questline. Even so, that fight will likely be easier compared to her weekly boss version because it’s part of the story.

Players must clear the following quest to get to her weekly boss version as well as her story version:

Archon Quest Chapter 2 Act 3

To unlock that questline, players will need to be:

Adventure Rank 30 or above Finished the Archon Quest: Chapter 2: Act 2 Finished the Stillness, The Sublimation Of Shadow

Truth be told, the quest is hard to miss, and only returning players who have been on a long hiatus or recently new ones who have just reached Inazuma will need to follow those steps above. Even then, simply opening the quest menu and navigating to the quest markers should do the trick.

12 Decrease The World Level To Defeat Her

Now, on to defeating Genshin’s Signora. Most players will be blindsided about how exhausting and lethal the fight can be against this Fatui Harbinger. In some cases, it can even end up in a full party wipe. If that happens in a weekly boss challenge, then players might have to swallow their pride and lower the World Level.

This, in turn, will also lower the difficulty of the Signora boss fight, making her easier to defeat since the characters are overpowered at that point. If they want, players can also invite others into a co-op game so they can team up against Signora.

11 Stock Up On Goulash

One of the most debilitating mechanics in the Signora boss fight is the sheer cold. This not only slows down the players but also deals damage to them. That status effect is actually one of the reasons why many players avoid visiting Dragonspine in Mondstadt or staying there too long.

Thankfully, there’s a good way to stave off the sheer cold. That would be through the spicy food, Goulash. It’s an easy enough recipe to cook and will provide players some immunity from the sheer cold. This makes the first half of the Signora boss fight much easier as players don’t have to bother managing the sheer cold.

10 Bring Cryo/Pyro Resistance Potions

If Goulash isn’t an option on the table or players can’t be bothered to cook, then they can craft some potions that increase their chance at survival. Those would be Cryo or Pyro Resistance Potions and they’re easily available in the crafting stations.

The materials needed for crafting them are also common enough. Players will just need one of each for every Signora boss fight. These potions usually last for six minutes. Alternatively, they can utilize the Protective Canopy Elemental Resonance which provides a similar effect to resistance potions but against all elements but this will require a party with no duplicate elements which might ruin some compositions.

9 Don’t Rely On A Single Pyro Or Cryo DPS Carry

It seems the developers are aware that the most prominent DPS carry characters right now are either Pyro or Cryo. So, they made a sensible choice and deemed Signora as both a Pyro and Cryo user— take that META-slaves! She has a Cryo phase and a Pyro phase. In any case, bringing just a Ganyu team, an Ayaka team, or a Hu Tao team is ill-advised.

Players have to rethink their team composition here. For a safer choice, they might want to bring Eula, or Beidou, or Xiao instead. Anything but a Pyro or Cryo DPS team. That or one could also bring a combined Cryo and Pyro carry team— assuming it’s viable.

8 Use A Ranged Character For An Easier Fight

For safer measures, using a ranged character or DPS hyper-carry in order to fight Signora makes the battle more manageable. Most of Signora’s attacks are devastating melee Pyro swathes or slow but debilitating Cryo projectiles.

A ranged DPS, such as Klee, Ningguang, Ganyu, Yoimiya, or even Fischl will do wonders in evading her attacks and also dealing damage at the same time. Just keep in mind that Pyro characters will need a Cryo DPS carry backup and vice versa.

7 Use A Shielder

When learning the ropes of the Signora boss fights, some frustrating deaths due to a relentless barrage of attacks is often unavoidable. In order to save time, players will want to use a character that can give a shield. Two come to mind as the best shield-givers in the game.

The first one is Zhongli whose Jade Shield is nigh-unbreakable with the right build. It also decreases Signora’s resistance, making the fight quicker. The other one is Diona whose shield is second only to Zhongli’s. Noelle is another good option that can double as a DPS carry and healer. In any case, a shield makes the fight less difficult.

6 Bring Healers Or Use NRE

Even though players brought their own shields, they’ll still want to bring dedicated healers. That’s how tough the fight can be, especially the weekly boss version. There are times when Signora’s attack combos will break a fresh shield and cannot be avoided due to bad camera angles or bad luck.

Healers provide another layer of safety and can give players confidence to be bold with their attacks. Diona also fits this role as she can also heal. Other healers are Bennett, Jean, or even Barbara who can double as support in quelling Signora’s flames.

5 Use Crimson Lotus Moths To Break Her Out Of Her Ice Cocoon

After players whittle down Signora’s first HP bar down to a certain threshold, she’ll wrap herself around a Cryo cocoon. Players need to destroy this in order to advance to the Pyro phase. They can either resort to Pyro characters as those can destroy the Cryo cocoon quickly but that would leave them less optimal during the Pyro phase.

Other elemental reactions also help but thankfully, players don’t even have to bring a Pyro character to destroy the ice cocoon. Crimson Lotus Moths fly around the arena during this moment and players can grab them so infuse their attacks with Pyro, thus easily destroying the ice cocoon.

4 Run Away From Her Attacks After Dodging

Signora’s attacks mostly have wide areas of effect or leave around a lingering trip-mine that foolish players will trigger. That’s why it’s best to stay away from her attack range even after a successful dodge or evasion. Some of Signora’s Cryo attacks, for example, leave some Cryo lotuses that will deal damage and slow down the players.

Meanwhile, some of her Pyro attacks will leave behind large burning fissures that will deal continuous damage should players stand on them. The best bet is to keep moving after dodging these attacks. That can easily become a Stamina drain but players can simply jog away from the attack instead of evading depending on their calculation so as to save Stamina.

3 Pay Attention To The Debuff Gauge

The battle with Signora is unique in that it introduces a new debuff mechanic to the game which is the Pyro version of Sheer Cold called Blazing Heat. She also has Sheer Cold in her Cryo phase. It’s a meter that builds up during her Cryo or Pyro phases and will deal the corresponding element as damage-over-time once it’s full.

That’s also another reason why bringing a healer on top of a shielder is recommended. The whole fight is costly on character HP and the Pyro or Cryo debuffs will deal damage even if the characters are shielded.

2 Destroy Her Cryo Or Pyro Pylons to Remove Her Debuff

Luckily, players don’t have to worry about the Sheer Cold or the Blazing Heat being an unfair mechanic. During her fight, La Signora leaves around more or less four blue or red pylons respectively called Eyes of Frost & Heart of Flames around the arena that can negate the effect of Sheer Cold or Heat.

Standing near the corresponding opposite-element pylon will bring the debuff meter down gradually. However, if players are in need of more immediate relief from Signora’s hot and cold attitude, then they can break the pylons (they have a health bar). Doing so will make the pylons explode and clear up any nearby character’s debuff.

1 Only Use Elemental Burst After She Teleports

As if her devastating attacks and dual-element setup aren’t enough, La Signora also has the ability to teleport around the arena. It’s a rather large arena (it’s Raiden Shogun’s living room, it seems), so she has plenty of space to zip around and evade the player’s attacks.

That means going all out with attacks after players notice that she hasn’t teleported in a while can result in some wasted Elemental Bursts. She can easily teleport out of harm’s way. A better tactic is to wait for her to use teleport before unloading all the damage. Once done, one ought to congratulate themselves and maybe join the Fatui Harbinger social club since there’s now a gaping vacancy.
