After the Varuna Contraption is fixed, Travelers will have the power to change the weather in the Apam Woods. This area has unstable weather where it constantly switches between rainy and sunny. However, the Contraption allows players to choose either one or keep them rotating. The weather of Apam Woods will create changes in the environment. For example, setting the Varuna Contraption to “sunny” is crucial while players are doing the Short Encounter With A Rare Bird quest in Genshin Impact. This is because the Dusk Birds involved in the quest will not be present if it’s rainy.

However, before getting to use the power of the Varuna Contraption, players must first find the Branch together with Aranakula and turn the Leaves toward the Branch.

How To Find The Branch Together With Aranakula In Genshin Impact

To find the Branch together with Aranakula in Genshin Impact, go to the ground level of the area and find a secluded cave at the marked spot. When the Cave is found, enter it to continue the quest with Aranakula.

This Cave hosts the Branch that will be the benchmark for the Leaves later.

How To Find And Turn The Leaves Toward The Branch In Genshin Impact

To find the Leaves, all players have to do is reach the Cave’s entrance to be greeted by a lonely Seelie. Follow it, and it will lead the Traveler and Paimon to every one of the three Leaves. If the Genshin Impact Traveler gets close to the Leaves, each Leaf has an option to rotate. Basically, all those Leaves should rotate towards the cave where the Branch is.

To do so, either memorize where the Branch was or follow the homing auras leaving a trail behind them on each Leaf. These green auras leave a trail that tells players exactly where to rotate the Leaves. After the Leaf is facing the Branch, the aura will disappear, so this can be used as an indicator.

For players that want a fast, straightforward answer. The first Leaf should be rotated once. The second has to be rotated twice. And finally, the last Leaf needs to be rotated once.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
