Food recipes in Genshin Impact range from one-star recipes that do minimal healing to more complicated five-star dishes with optimal performance. Nonetheless, some of the most proven foods in Teyvat come from four-star recipes that balance performance and cost-efficiency.

Overview

Generally speaking, food recipes in Genshin Impact can be divided into four distinct categories: health, attack, defense, and stamina. Starting with health-boosting dishes, these foods will benefit the player by either reviving a downed character or healing a fixed amount of HP/healing over a duration. Attack and defense dishes work similarly in their respective areas to each other, boosting stats either generally or in specific areas (like physical damage and shield quality.) On the other hand, stamina dishes don’t focus on combat, either reducing consumption or increasing stamina by a set amount.

Currently, there are no four-star recipes that target health and stamina-boosting in Genshin Impact. However, with four more regions at the least, players can expect to see the release of four-star recipes in these areas in the future. For now, however, Genshin Impact players will need to look towards three-star or lower recipes for these kinds of services.

Butter Crab

Category: DEF-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 4 Butter, 4 Crab, 2 Seagrass, 1 Matsutake

Each region in Genshin Impact has a reputation rank system that tracks the player’s progress in exploring the nation. Likewise, each reputation system has an exclusive recipe at rank 7, and for Inazuma, this recipe is Butter Crab.

Butter Crab is technically classified as a defense-boosting dish, however, it has a unique quirk to its use. The dish increases a team’s defense stat by a fixed amount, and also has the interesting effect of boosting healing effects by a percentage. In this way, it acts as an in-between of healing and defense, perfect for holding up healers that aren’t fully built.

Chicken Tofu Pudding

Category: ATK-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 4 Fowl, 2 Ham, 2 Bird Egg, 1 Snapdragon

Every so often in Genshin Impact, players will receive rewards from quest rewards outside of mora and primogems. For the world quest, A Dish Beyond Mortal Ken, the player receives the recipe for Chicken Tofu Pudding.

Chicken Tofu Pudding is a fairly basic offensive dish, raising attack by a fixed amount and critical rate by 8%. This makes it a perfect dish for characters with high critical hit damage, but a low critical rate.

Chili-Mince Cornbread Buns

Category: DEF-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 4 Raw Meat, 2 Jueyun Chili, 3 Flour, 2 Cabbage

Some dishes can only be obtained via limited-time events in Genshin Impact. The recipe for Chili-Mince Cornbread Buns, sadly, can only be obtained during the Moonlight Merriment event in version 2.1. It will not be available again until the event occurs again if it does.

For Genshin Impact players that did have the opportunity to obtain the recipe, Chili-Mince Cornbread Buns make for a great defensive dish. The four-star food increases shield strength by 30%, as well as general defense by a fixed amount. This makes it a good booster for teams with shield users.

Golden Crab

Category: DEF-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 5 Bird Egg, 5 Flour, 4 Crab, 2 Salt

Golden Crab is one of the most common four-star food recipes in Genshin Impact. A defensive dish, the recipe can be obtained through several routes: during Mona’s story quest, bought from Xinyue Kiosk, or during the quest Pressing Deadlines.

Golden Crab makes for a very efficient defense booster, by increasing base defense and healing effects by 8%. As such, the dish makes for a good, easy-to-obtain recipe to increase defense overall.

Golden Fried Chicken

Category: ATK-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 4 Fowl, 4 Butter, 3 Pepper, 2 Flour

Genshin Impact is not a stranger to crossover events, such as with Horizon Zero’s Aloy, itself during Honkai Impact 3rd’s Fischl event, and of course, with KFC. During Genshin Impact’s collaboration with KFC, Golden Fried Chicken was offered as a limited-time recipe, so players will no longer be able to obtain it.

Golden Fried Chicken has similar boosters to Golden Crab, increasing base attack and healing effects by 8%. As such, Golden Fried Chicken makes for a good general offensive booster.

Jade Parcels

Category: ATK-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 3 Lotus Head, 2 Jueyun Chili, 2 Cabbage, 1 Ham

One of the first Liyue characters to be introduced in Genshin Impact, Xiangling’s competition quest in Springvale introduced many players to their first four-star recipe. Jade Parcels can be obtained upon finishing Xiangling’s quest in Springvale.

The four-star recipe makes for a good offensive booster. Jade Parcels increase attack by a fixed base amount, as well as critical rate by 8%.

Moon Pie

Category: DEF-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 4 Raw Meat, 4 Bird Egg, 3 Butter, 2 Flour

In Mondstadt’s reputation system, the recipe for Moon Pie can be obtained at rank 7. Given that Mondstadt is the first region for players in Genshin Impact to visit, Moon Pie will often be the first reputation recipe to be obtained.

Using some of the easiest ingredients to find for a four-star food recipe, Moon Pie may be the most cost-efficient defense-boosting dish in the Genshin Impact. Moon Pie boosts a team’s shield strength by 30%, as well as boosts base defense by a fixed amount.

Stormcrest Pie

Most Genshin Impact characters have a chance to create a specialty dish. However, only one character can create a special dish when making a four-star recipe. When making Moon Pie, Eula has the chance to create a specialty dish called Stormcrest Pie.

For Genshin Impact players that have Eula, they may want to consider making Moon Pie more often than other defense-boosting recipes. Should their Eula reward them with a Stormcrest Pie, the four-star food will provide a much higher defense boost; the Stormcrest Pie offers a 40% shield strength boost instead of the normal 30% boost.

Sashimi Platter

Category: ATK-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 4 Fish, 4 Shrimp Meat, 4 Crab, 2 Radish

The Sashimi Platter is an iconic dish from Inazuma that players can obtain early on in the region’s storyline. Players will receive the dish as a reward for completing the quest The Gourmet Supremos: The Importance of Eating Well in Inazuma City.

That said, the Sashimi Platter may not be the most cost-efficient dish to make in Genshin Impact, as it requires a mix of fish, shrimp, and crab (all of which can be a hassle to obtain at times.) Nonetheless, players that make the dish will be rewarded amicably for their efforts, the recipe boosting critical rate by 8% and attack by a hefty amount.

Tianshu Meat

Category: ATK-Boosting Dishes Ingredients: 4 Raw Meat, 2 Sugar, 1 Qingxin, 1 Matsutake

The recipe for Tianshu Meat is the reputation reward for Genshin Impact players that manage to get to rank 7 in Liyue. Previously sold by Licai for 12,000 mora, players will find this four-star recipe to be a benefit to their in-game wallets.

It’s easy to understand why the dish is so expensive (outside of it being delicious.) Tianshu Meat is one of the best offense-boosting foods in Genshin Impact, especially to physical DPS characters that benefit from its 30% boost to physical damage and 8% boost to critical rate.

Genshin Impact is now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
