However, despite being one of Genshin Impact’s most used 5-star characters, players are still finding it difficult to collect Keqing’s ascension and talent materials. This guide will help them to do so.
Leveling Materials
Like every character in Genshin Impact, Keqing requires a certain amount of Mora and EXP to level up her stats. This is the most basic part of building a character in the game, as it will require a base amount of resources that are shared by every other playable character.
In addition to Mora, players will also need to increase Keqing’s EXP. They can do so by using Wanderer’s Advice, and other items that increase EXP. This is one efficient combination to level up Keqing:
Keqing Ascension Items
Compared to some of the other standard banner 5-stars, Keqing has some of the more difficult ascension items to collect.
Gemstones - Vajrada Amethyst
Like every other Electro user in Genshin Impact, Keqing will need Vajrada Amethyst with each ascension. This purple gemstone can be obtained through the Souvenir Shops, or by defeating bosses found around the world, including the Electro Hypostasis and Thunder Manifestation, as well as Azhdaha, Dvalin, Tartaglia, and the End of the Oneiric Euthymia weekly domains.
Enemy Drop - Nectar
Unlike Vajrada Amethyst, finding Nectar for Keqing’s ascensions will be a little more difficult to collect. Nectar is obtained by defeating Whopperflowers, which are both an annoying enemy to fight and difficult to find in large numbers. Whopperflowers can be found in every region of Teyvat so far, especially in areas like Cuijue Slope in Liyue.
Boss Drop - Lightning Prism
Each character in Genshin Impact requires a special boss drop. Keqing’s boss drop is the Lightning Prism, which can be obtained by defeating the Electro Hypostasis in Mondstadt. This makes the Electro Hypostasis a priority target when building Keqing, as players can collect both Lightning Prisms and Vajrada Amethyst at the same time.
Local Specialty - Cor Lapis
Much like the other ascension items for Keqing, Cor Lapis is a material that is both hard to collect and scarce. Like collecting other ores around Liyue, players will need to scale tough mountains, all for one of the rarest ores in Genshin Impact. Players can collect Cor Lapis for Keqing by traveling to locations like Mt. Hulao, or by purchasing it from Changshun in Liyue Harbor.
Keqing Talent Materials
In addition to building her through ascension, Genshin Impact players should also consider leveling up Keqing’s talents. These are all the items that players will need to upgrade Keqing’s talents:
Talent Books - Prosperity
As a member of the Liyue Qixing, Keqing is a character with a grand plan for Liyue’s prosperity (one that she says includes the Travelers). For this reason, it’s no surprise that Keqing needs Books of Prosperity to upgrade her talents.

For those unaware, Books of Prosperity can be obtained by completing the Taishan Mansion domain on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.
Trounce Materials And Crowns Of Insight
After upgrading talents to level 6, players will need Trounce Materials obtained from weekly boss fights to further upgrade a character. Keqing needs Rings of Boreas to ascend her talents past level 6. Despite Keqing being a Liyue character, these can be obtained by finishing the Wolf of the North boss fight in Mondstadt’s Wolvendom.
In addition, players can choose to max out Keqing’s talents by using Crowns of Insight. To fully upgrade Keqing, three Crowns will be needed in total: one for each talent. These rare items can be obtained from the Frostbearing Tree, the Sacred Sakura, and as a reward from limited-time events.
