The recent Special Program event for Genshin Impact update 3.4 also confirmed that both of these characters will appear on the first banner cycle. They will be joined by another five-star character named Xiao who will probably play a significant part in the upcoming Lantern Rite Festival, which is an annual event in celebration of the Chinese New Year.

A popular Genshin Impact leaker named merlin_impact has revealed which four-star characters will appear on the upcoming Limited Character Banner. Each banner cycle in the game features one or two five-star units and three four-star characters. The game’s gacha system has a pity mechanic which guarantees a five-star drop within 90 wishes and a four-star character within 10 wishes. This means that four-star units are much easier to acquire, but their pity is also divided between three characters. According to the leak, the first banner for Genshin Impact update 3.4 will feature the following characters:
Alhaitham - five-star Dendro sword user Xiao - five-star Anemo polearm user Yaoyao - four-star Dendro polearm user Yunjin - four-star Geo polearm user Xinyan - four-star Pyro claymore user
Alhaitham is confirmed to be the second Dendro DPS character in the game after the bow user Tighnari who is part of Standard Banner. His damage potential relies on using his Chisel-Light Mirror stacks which can infuse his attacks with the Dendro element. Recent gameplay leaks have revealed that Alhaitham will be a great pick for the Spread team composition.
Yaoyao is the only new four-star character and players like the fact that she’s placed on the same banner as Alhaitham which means that in order to acquire both units, players need to spend their wishes on only one banner. The recent live stream event also confirmed that players will be able to get Yaoyao for free as part of the Lantern Rite Festival.
The second five-star character on the list is the fan-favorite Anemo user Xiao. He is considered a “selfish DPS” since his elemental burst Bane of All Evil gets cut short if Xiao leaves the field. This means that players need to surround him with Genshin Impact supports that have a very strong off-field presence like Zhongli and Bennett.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
