Genshin Impact’s official social media accounts have already confirmed the two new characters for the next update 3.5, Dehya and Mika. Dehya is confirmed as a new five-star character while Mika is expected to have a lower four-star rarity which means that they could appear on the same banner.

A new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed more information about Baizhu’s kit. According to the leak, one of Baizhu’s skills will grant him resistance to interruption in the form of a shield. The leak describes Baizhu as a Dendro version of Layla and Yae Miko. Layla is a recently introduced four-star character that has one of the strongest shields in the game and she also has great elemental application. Yae Miko is a unique Genshin Impact character and probably the best off-field DPS in the game thanks to her Electro totems. Even though both of these characters have great potential to constantly apply their element, the leak mentions that Baizhu won’t have great Dendro application without additional constellations.
The community doesn’t seem too concerned about the fact that Baizhu’s true potential is apparently hidden behind his C1 level since many players claim that they have been saving tons of Primogems for his arrival. Previous leaks have revealed that Changsheng, which is the name of the snake that can be seen wrapped around Baizhu’s neck, will also be incorporated into his kit.
Since his first appearance, Baizhu has been one of the most popular characters in the game, probably because he was the only Dendro user that was part of the game at the time. While many players expected Baizhu to become the first Dendro character to join the playable roster, HoYoverse delayed his release, probably because he belongs to the Liyue region.
When it comes to his exact release date, multiple rumors have been hinting that Baizhu could arrive in Genshin Impact update 3.6 and there is no information about any other characters that could join him. According to the game’s usual update schedule, players can expect version 3.6 to drop around April 15.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
