In the next few months, Genshin Impact will apparently introduce a new mysterious region by the name Sumeru along with its symbolic Dendro element. Recent leaks have apparently revealed the three characters that should arrive in the first Sumeru update.

A very credible Genshin Impact leaker known as Zeniet has finally revealed the splash arts for three new characters that should arrive with the new major update. Version 3.0 will apparently feature only one new five-star and two four-star characters. The five-star character is called Tighnari which is an unusual name for a Genshin Impact character. However, a big part of the community speculates that his name is based on an Arab scientist named Al-Tighnari which makes sense considering that each major region is based on a real-life location and recent leaks have been hinting that Sumeru is based on Southwest Asia and the Middle East.
The splash art confirms previous leaks about Tighnari being a new Dendro bow user. According to recent rumors, he will probably be a new main DPS or sub-DPS Genshin Impact character with a passive that allows him to track down resources in the new region. One of the four-star characters, Collei, has been a popular topic in the community over the last couple of months. The unique thing about Collei is the fact that, according to the game’s manga, she is able to use elemental powers without having a Vision or any special gadget.
These unnatural powers are a result of Collei being used for as an experiment for Fatui’s Archon Residue research. According to Zeniet, she will also be a new Dendro bow character. Unlike Collei and Tighnari, there is not a lot of information about the third character, Dori. Other than being a new four-star Electro claymore user, leaks have not revealed any details about her personality.
Multiple replies in the comment section claim that she will most likely fill a similar role to the Anemo claymore user Sayu. There is still no official information about the characters’ release date but according to HoYoverse’s usual update schedule, the new update should arrive at the end of August. Considering that there is only one new five-star character, Version 3.0 will most likely introduce a re-run for it’s second banner cycle.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
