Genshin Impact has officially revealed that the mysterious land of Sumeru will arrive in the next major update which should drop at the end of August. The game’s social media accounts have already confirmed three new characters for the new update, two of which are equipped with the new Dendro element.

One of the most popular Genshin Impact leakers named Ubatcha1 has revealed a detailed map of the new Sumeru region which will apparently be located west of the recently released Chasm mines. This seems to confirm the previous rumors about Chasm being the bridge between two main nations, Liyue and Sumeru. The new map shows multiple Teleport Waypoints placed close to each other which often indicates that there is a lot of vertical distance between the two points. Multiple leaks have been hinting that Sumeru will become the largest major region in Genshin Impact.

However, the complete region won’t be available in Genshin Impact Version 3.0 and players can likely expect a new map extension every other update which would be similar to the Inazuma arc. The game’s official story described Sumeru as a magical land made of forests and deserts. However, the recently released Sumeru teaser only revealed the forest part of the new region meaning that players will have to wait for a couple of months before the whole region arrives.

Numerous fans seem to be focused on one particular part of the map named Ardavi Valley. This location includes an enormous Ruin Guard whose remains can be seen on the map. Previous Genshin Impact leaks have revealed that players can actually enter this Ruin Guard and explore his parts but, considering his size, it’s highly unlikely that he will ever come back to life and move.

Even though each new major region introduces tons of new events and characters, the thing the majority of players are looking forward to the most seems to be the addition of the new Dendro element. It will have a significant impact on the game’s current combat system which relies on combining different elements and triggering various elemental reactions. Genshin Impact has already confirmed at least seven new elemental reactions tied with the new Dendro element.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
