There are a total of seven areas in this Genshin Impact event. For area 1, here are all the objects Kichiboushi hides as.

Tanuki’s Location in Eight Locales Over Mountains and Seas - Area 1

As a requirement for this event, Travelers must first meet Ioroi in Tanuki-Bayashi in the Forest; A sub-quest of the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual World Quest in Genshin Impact. Then, to start the event, speak to Ioroi in Chinju Forest. This yokai has been cursed to be a stone a long time ago, and so he needs the Traveler’s help to look out for his tanuki.

For players to be able to speak to the creature, Ioroi hands Travelers a special food. Afterward, find Kichiboushi to see if the meal is effective.

Kichiboushi’s Hiding Spots in Area 1

Once all is set, go to Genshin Impact’s Dragonspine in Mondstadt. To play with the Bake-Danuki, players have to keep following the creature until it turns into an object. The tanuki will “roll” in the air and disappear as soon as Travelers come close enough, so make sure not to lose him when he did that.

After following Kichiboushi for a while, he will turn into a torch. To “reveal” him, simply light up the torch

Players can use Pyro, Electro, or Anemo for this task. Electro’s Overload reaction will cause the Pyro to jump from the campfire, while Anemo’s Swirl will spread the Element, burning things around it.

Next, continue through the bridge and find a snow pile next to a Ruin Brazier. Just like before, use Pyro to Melt the ice or utilize the nearby campfire to create Elemental Reactions with Electro or Anemo.

After revealing Kichiboushi, players have to take a picture of him as a memento. If gamers are into keeping souvenirs like this, then make sure to get a good shot as the opportunity won’t come twice. Once one picture is taken via the quest’s prompt, the Great Snowboar King will appear and Genshin Impact players have to defeat it.

As an alternative, Travelers can use their own Camera instead of following the prompt. This way, they can take pictures to their heart’s content.

The Snowboar King fight will mark the end of the journey in area 1.

Unlike the adventures in area 1, Travelers only have to bring Kichiboushi sightseeing in area 2. This time, they will visit The Alcor, Captain Beidou’s renowned ship in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
