Character ascension is one of the more tedious tasks in Genshin Impact because players will often have to go hunting for hours to find rare materials. Each character has a unique resource that can typically only be found in a specified place or dropped by a specific type of enemy. For example, finding Violetgrass for Qiqi means scouring and climbing certain cliffside in Liyue, and if the ascension requires upwards of 20, the hunt can easily take hours.

Treasure Hoarder Insignias and their leveled counterparts are required ascension materials for a few characters in Genshin Impact: Beidou, Bennett, Kaeya, and one of the game’s newest Pyro characters: Xinyan. Ascending any of these characters past phase 6 requires 24 Golden Raven Insignias, so the task of collecting enough of them or the lower level Insignias and crafting them can be daunting.
Treasure Hoarders can often be found around ruins and anywhere where something valuable might be hiding, because they’re doing exactly what their name implies: looking for treasure. The easiest way to find the exact locations of Treasure Hoarders is to pull up the Adventurer’s Handbook and go to the enemies tab. At the very bottom is the Treasure Hoarders section, and the player can track the nearest one by selecting it. This can be done repeatedly without a cooldown, and Genshin Impact will navigate the player to the nearest camp of Treasure Hoarders.
What can be frustrating about searching for Treasure Hoarders, specifically for new players, is that they can mostly only be found in Liyue and are very scarce in Mondstadt. So if a player gets access to Bennett, Beidou, or Xinyan early on or is resorting to using the free Kaeya and needs to ascend them, it might take some time before enough Insignias are collected.
However, in Liyue, some Treasure Hoarders can be found in high concentration. Most notably, areas around Tianheng (specifically southwest of the word “Tianheng” on the map) and Lingju Pass feature a slew of them. East of Luhua Pool in Liyue, as well as ruins south of Guili Plain, there are many Hoarders as well. Traveling to the area northeast of Mt. Aozang, around the abyssal domain Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern, also has many Treasure Hoarders inside the trenches.
If the player is looking around Mondstadt, looking north of Springvale during the Raptor questline can bring out a few Treasure Hoarders.
