RELATED: Genshin Impact: Things You Didn’t Know About Electro

Like the other elemental ascension gems, Vajrada Amethyst comes in four levels of quality: Vajrada Amethyst Sliver, Vajrada Amethyst Fragment, Vajrada Amethyst Chunk, and Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone. There are quite a few ways to obtain these gems, so let’s take a look at those methods, as well as which characters are going to need them — and when.

Which Characters Use Vajrada Amethyst

Any character with an Electro Vision, plus the Raiden Shogun, will use Vajrada Amethyst to ascend — basically, any Electro character except the Electro Traveler, as they use their own unique gem.

At higher and higher ascension levels, characters will need more and better quality Vajrada Amethyst, as outlined in this table:

At present, there are 11 characters that require Vajrada Amethyst, shown here:

Genshin Impact Bosses That Drop Vajrada Amethyst

Usually, the best way to farm elemental gemstones is by defeating bosses that can drop the right ones. For Vajrada Amethyst, the following bosses are capable of dropping Vajrada Amethyst in their rewards (which cost 40 Original Resin, of course):

Electro Hypostasis Thunder Manifestation Coral Defenders Primo Geovishap* Electro Regisvine

For the most part, higher-level bosses can drop better quality gems, as seen here:

Genshin Impact Weekly Bosses That Drop Vajrada Amethyst

As with standard bosses, there are weekly bosses that are capable of dropping Vajrada Amethyst when the player clears their trounce domain and pays the Resin for the rewards:

Dvalin (Confront Stormterror) Childe (Enter the Golden House) Azhdaha (Beneath the Dragon Queller)* The Shogun (End of the Oneiric Euthymia) Scaramouche (Joururi Workshop)

Just like with standard bosses, weekly bosses drop better gems at higher levels:

Other Ways to Get Vajrada Amethyst in Genshin Impact

Apart from taking on bosses, there are a handful of other ways to find some Vajrada Amethyst.

Daily Commissions

Perhaps one of the easiest ways to earn elemental gems is by completing daily commissions, though it can also be unreliable.

After completing the four daily commissions assigned by the Adventurers’ Guild, players can grab a few bonus rewards from Katheryne at any branch. Unfortunately, this only yields Slivers, and which elemental gem they are is random.

Crafting

Luckily, those Slivers can be crafted upward into Fragments, which can be crafted into Chunks, and those can be made into Gemstones.

At a crafting bench, elemental ascension gems can be crafted upward at a 3:1 ratio. Here’s a breakdown:

Conversion

If the player has the wrong elemental stones for what they need, a crafting bench can also help them convert those into the right ones.

Using the conversion option at a crafting bench, players can use Dust of Azoth to convert elemental ascension gems into those for other elements, meaning they can turn Agnidus Agate, Shivada Jade, Nagadus Emerald, Vayuda Turquoise, Varunada Lazurite, or Prithiva Topaz into Vajrada Amethyst.

Dust of Azoth can be purchased from Paimon’s Bargains at a rate of 5 Stardust for 10 counts of Dust of Azoth.

Parametric Transformer

Another easy, but slightly unreliable way to create elemental gems is by using the Parametric Transformer. When certain types of materials are used as “fuel,” there is a higher likelihood of obtaining certain results. It’s not guaranteed, but the chances are higher for receiving gems when inserting these materials:

The Parametric Transformer creates “sets” of items. Two of these sets can include elemental ascension gems: one that has a single Fragment of a random element, and one that has two Slivers of a random element.

Events

Perhaps the least reliable method for earning elemental ascension gems is also one of the easiest. This is through time-limited events. It’s not every event that has elemental ascension gems as possible rewards, but they’re typically pretty easy to obtain when they are.
