RELATED: Genshin Impact: 10 Best Ways To Save Mora

Updated July 4, 2021 by Mina Smith: Genshin Impact’s Dragontooth Spear is a powerful, free weapon that doesn’t require Wishes to get. This is great for many players who are looking to avoid or can’t afford to spend real money on this free-to-play Gacha game, even though it does take a lot of time. In order to complete both the Festering Fang quest and get that Dragontooth Spear made and fully refined, this article has been updated to include more information on respawn times, more maps, and clearer instructions to make sure anyone who wants this epic spear can make one (and fully upgrade one) for themselves.

Four Strange Tooth Locations in Genshin Impact

To get right to it, the four Strange Teeth in Genshin Impact are all located in Dragonspine, with three of them situated in the northern portion of the region and one to the southeast. Rather than attempt to describe these locations, a marked map is perhaps the easiest way to communicate the positions of the Strange Teeth, and one can be found below. Additionally, there are further details on each location following the map, which should alleviate any confusion.

Strange Tooth 1: Look for torches; there will be a tooth nearby. Strange Tooth 2: Look for a small island. Strange Tooth 3: Wyrmrest Valley Red Cave; it will be inside. Strange Tooth 4: Near the water on the floor.

Other Items for the Festering Fang Quest

As previously mentioned, Strange Teeth are not the only items that players will need to collect for this quest, as they will also need to obtain a Northlander Polearm Prototype in Genshin Impact. This prototype can be earned in the Spiral Abyss or by leveling up the Frostbearing Tree, and indeed it plays a major role in the construction of the Dragonspine Spear.

Furthermore, players must collect a reasonable quantity of Starsilver Ore for this quest, and the northern perimeter of Dragonspine is perhaps the easiest place to find it. Indeed, the beaches in that area are home to a number of Starsilver deposits, and fans that visit them should have little trouble getting all of the ore that they need. That said, the resource is certainly not exclusive to north Dragonspine, as players can find it scattered across the region.

How to Complete The Strange Tooth / Festering Fang Quest

After collecting all of these items, players will be instructed to fill one of the Strange Teeth with vitality, and that requires a return trip to location 3 from the Strange Tooth map above. This time around, Genshin Impact fans will find themselves in battle with several Fatui, and they will receive the Vitalized Dragontooth once they have proven victorious. All that is left to do from there is return to Orban, hand over the items, and collect the rewards.

Getting More Strange Tooth and Vitalized Dragontooth

Players will need to collect several more Strange Teeth and Vitalized Dragonteeth in order to fully refine their Dragontooth Spear; thankfully the teeth respawn in each of these four locations every two days or so. This will help to collect more teeth and get players every closer to the fully-realized Dragontooth Spear.
